AXL — Next-Generation AI Architecture: Integration of the Diegetic Interface (Metahuman "Nika")

We are excited to introduce the core mechanic of the AXL transport corporation simulator — the Intelligent Driver Companion (IDC). The game's primary interface and logical core will be a character built on MetaHuman Framework technology — Nika.

This is not just an NPC companion. Nika is a systemic AI that interacts directly with Unreal Engine's backend, acting as an agent between the player and the simulation.

Technical Implementation (built on UE):

• Controller vs. Companion Architecture: While the player controls vehicle physics (Chaos Vehicle Physics), Nika operates at the Player Controller and Game Instance level. She processes inputs where pressing a menu button triggers not a UI widget, but a MetaHuman animation and voice feedback.

• MetaHuman Crowd Integration in Simulations: We use the improved UE pipeline for seamless role-switching of Nika.

Nika's Functionality in AXL:

1. Diegetic Interface: All vehicle selection menus (truck, bus, motorcycle), clutch settings, and loading configurations are visualized through interaction with Nika (e.g., a tablet in the MetaHuman's hands), removing standard HUD elements from the screen.

2. Adaptive Logic: Nika analyzes your actions. If you overload the rig (violating weight and dimension regulations), the model's emotional state (via the State Tree system) shifts to concerned, and the dialogue transitions into a safety briefing.

3. Unified AI Core: Nika synchronizes data between "cargo transport" and "passenger transport" modes, acting as the gameplay's connective tissue.

In the attached image: the first render of Nika — the core interface system of AXL.

Stay tuned for development.
